Today Is A Gift

You know that quote... "Find something you love to do and you won't ever have to work a day in your life."

I'm pretty sure we've all heard it over a bazillion times from people who influence us. I hear it all the time from my parents, teachers, counselors... You name it. You'd think it'd be pounded in my head right now and there to stay. The only problem with hearing it over and over again was the fact that I didn't really get it until I got my most recent job.

Along with Super Nanny and Blogger, I now carry the job title "Personal Care Attendant" at an assisted living home for young adults with disabilities. Personally, I think it's the hardest title yet, but I love it so infinitely much. I've only worked there a month and I know I've found yet another thing I've been called to do.

I love that. I love how I'm being challenged, pushed WAY out of my comfort zone, and doing the work that GOD has given me here on earth. I love what I'm learning about myself. But what I really love? Making a difference. Living in the present and loving everything and everybody I can possibly love.

This post probably deserves an award for shortest, most random blog post - but I just had to document it here. I'm headed off to work right now and I'm so darn excited for what today will bring!

Today is a gift.

Don't get stuck in the past or lost in the future. Today is the present because it is a gift.

So amazing to be called for such rewarding work! I work with victims of violent crime, and it's definitely challenging, but rewarding nonetheless. Keep up the great work and continue to follow God's calling! You're definitely a motivation to pick up the pieces of life and keep moving forward. Have a blessed weekend, Kenz!
